I knew Chasimeros personally. I was a little kid, when I watched on the ring side between my father's boxer against him in an amateur championship. Chasimeros won by decision, and I congratulated him when he went down the ring.Until before his death, I still remembered him. If I met Sutan Rambing or his son Temuzin Rambing, I always asked them, "Where is Chasimeros now?".Well-well.

Sedih juga mendengar nasib Chasimeros. Walau hanya pernah berkenalan sekelebatan saja, tapi perkenalan dengan Chasimeros waktu saya kecil cukup mendalam.
Saya kenal alm. Chasimeros saat saya kecil, petinju didikan ayahsaya, Rocky Massa (aslinya namanya Rukimin... hehehe) bertandinglawan Chasimeros di ajang Porda Jateng. Saat itu Chasimeros menangangka. (Waktu itu sih saya masih kelas 1 SMP kalau nggak salah).Sampai sebelum meninggal, saya masih terngiang nama dan wajahChasimeros. Bahkan saat bertemu Temuzin Rambing, saya sukamenanyakan kabar Chasimeros.Selamat jalan, sahabat!

Thomas rewarded, Chasimeros suicide
By Jeffrey Pamungkas
Nico Thomas (former IBF strawweight champion in 1989) is one of the three boxers among 44 Indonesian athletes who it was announced last week will receive houses as a reward from the government of Indonesia through the Minister of Youth and Sport, Adhyaksa Dault. Besides Thomas, other boxers Albert Resilay (former bantamweight national champion) and Herry Maitimu (former amatuer boxer in 1980s) also received the reward. Thomas, who currently lives in poverty, told Fightnews that he appreciated with the government's effort to pay attention to the former athletes who have given their dedication to the country. "Everybody was in tears at that time," Thomas reported the situation of the reward announcement. "We will select the house that we like by ourselves, then we will report the budget to the government and they will pay for the houses," Thomas explained happily.

However, this happy news becomes a paradox after the former Indonesian welterweight boxer (amateur and professional), Chasimeros (44) was found dead by his own hand at his home on Saturday. Chasimeros, who was trained by well known trainer Sutan Rambing, sent a letter to his wife and daughter apologizing for his decision to end his life and explained the reason was too much debt that he couldn't afford to pay. Chasimeros becomes the second case of this year in Indonesia of a boxer who killed himself due to economic problems. In February, Rachman Kili-kili also decided to take this tragic way to end his life, also by hanging. WBA feathwerweight champion Chris John, formerly Chasimeros' stablemate, said that he was surprised and very sad to hear the news. He hoped Chasimeros's case would end the sad stories of Indonesian boxers.
