John - Caballero Post Fight Press Conference

Roinet Caballero, speaking through Raul Antonio Esdkildsen Arias, Panama's Ambassador for Indonesia, told to the press that he respected WBA featherweight titlist Chris John as a great champion and wished him luck for his future career. "Caballero's trainer realized that his boxer couldn't compete Chris John's boxing skill, that's the consideration Caballero retired after round seven," explained Edskilsen in the post fight conference. Chris John said that he also respected the challenger and that Caballero still has a bright future because he's a great boxer and still young (24). During the fight, John's jabs and long punches prevented the shorter Caballero from coming forward, until finally "El Mus," Caballero's nickname, quit in frustration between rounds seven and eight.

Craig Christian, John's trainer and manager, was quite surprised for by news reports that he wanted Manny Pacquiao as John's next opponent. "That's not true. Manny will fight Marquez at jr. lightweight, then he'll move to the lightweight division, so I know Manny vs John was not realistic," said Christian, who prefered to keep John in the featherweight division. Regarding John's next fight, Christian said he would decide within the next week. "I will inform you after we have decided something."
