Press Release by WBC To all boxing federations and boxing commissions of the world:
This past Saturday boxing lost perhaps the greatest referee of all times, the only man to have refereed in six different decades, our dear Arthur Mercante.We are respectfully requesting all boxing federations, commissions and promoters around the world to join the homage to Arthur Mercante by having referees wear a black band or a black ribbon on their arms to remember Arthur.
