Through this media, Heri Amol and his promoter Pino Bahari have sent their prayers for the fallen warrior Yo-sam Choi. Regarding Choi’s tragic brain injury, Bahari, who was in Amol’s corner during the fight, told this correspondent he believes that Choi was possibly suffering from an old injury and the December 25 fight was only the trigger of the accident. According to Bahari, the former WBC jr. flyweight champion didn't receive fatal punches during the twelve-round fight and Choi had won at least nine or ten rounds before being knocked down in the last 5 seconds of the final round. "Also, in perhaps rounds five and above, Choi did several headbutts, causing him warned by the referee several times. Those headbutts maybe also be the trigger of the injury,” said Bahari. As reported earlier, Choi was knocked down by Amol in the last seconds of the last round, before he was declared the winner. He then collapsed when the decision was announced.
