PRESS RELEASEFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Regarding the belt controversy blown by Mr. Juanito Ablaca, I would like to explain the chronology about the rumors about Ba'at belt :
1. Mr. Jonathan Ba'at won by KO 6 against our fighter Richard Samosir in Jakarta, August 23 and won the WBO Oriental interim belt. Based on our contract, we will have option for Ba'at's 2 matches of Ba'at if he wins the fight against Samosir.
2. After the fight I visited Ba'at's team room in the hotel. I explained to them if they couldn't bring the belt before finishing 2 (two) option refer on official contract. They wish if I do contact to their manager Rex Wakee Salud. I called their manager that time, unfortunately failed. So I confirmed to them (Mr. Jonathan Ba'at & trainer: Mr. Juanito Ablaca), it was common practice at professional boxing activity. Your boxer Ba'at has become Champion as legal, and the belt is only a symbol.
I gave an example of the similar case : First, Indonesian boxer Simson Butar-Butar did not bring his belt when he won the WBO Asia title in the Philippines besides he also has the option with a promoter from Phillipines. Second, Filipino Richard Garcia also didn't bring the PABA belt after winning title in Korea. So, I said to them if we would like to keep the belt after their boxer Ba'at finished his 2 (two) options. After explaining the case, I brought back the belt and they just kept silent regarding this case.
3. Four days after the fight, Mr. Leon Panoncillo (WBO asia Pacific President) called me regarding the belt case in Philippines newspapers & Philboxing.com. He also sent the article to my email.
4. I explained to Mr. Panoncillo that I am not intended to keep the belt forever. I kept the belt to make sure they would accomplish two options based on contract that we had, and to defend his title in Indonesia. After he (Ba'at) has finished 2 (two) options & won, I will present to them.
5. Mr. Panoncillo suggested me to send the WBO belt to Ba'at, to make WBO and our boxing promotion have a good image in Philippines.6. Because our consideration that we have a great respect to WBO & boxing community of Philippine, so I sent the new original WBO Oriental belt and I didn't want to extend this problem.
6. I have sent the belt on August 28 by TNT Express, and the belt should be arrived at Ba'at team.
7. Today September 13, I get the article comment from Ba'at team (Mr. Juanito Ablaca): http://philboxing.com/news/story-18958.html Ba-at had won the interim title with a sixth-round annihilation of formerly unbeaten Richard Samosir of Indonesia on August 23.Ablaca, upon returning home, complained to the media promoter Temuzin Rambing's act of taking back the beautiful WBO Oriental belt from their hotel room.WBO Asia Pacific chairman intervened to put a rest to the issue, and after a few days, the belt was finally sent to the Philippines to its rightful owner Jonathan Ba-at."But Rambing sent us an old belt, not the new one which we got when we won the title on the ring. We would have preferred the new beautiful belt," said Ablaca.
8. I have been patient before because of our big respect to with WBO and the Philippines boxing community. But after all of our good effort, they do not appreciate us. So, I can not accept their attitude. In this occassion, I want them to apologize for their attitudes via the press and clarify to boxing community about this case.
9. If they worry about the new WBO belt originality, they can send the belt to WBO, and let the WBO check the originality of the belt.
10. But the most important thing is, Mr. Ablaca's attitude that he keeps talking bad about me and our promotion, although I have done my best sincerely, he was still talking bad, that one I can't accept it, and they have to send apology and clear explanation about this via Phillipines media. Mr. Ablaca, if you still need clarification, you still have my number and e-mail, please call me. I will still treat you as a friend, no problem.Thank you for your kind attention.Temuzin Rambing
